Christmas in the Summer

ImageWhile Christmas is a very important time at The Center, we have needs year-round. Fortunately, a few groups have decided to celebrate Christmas in the summer and get their members into the giving, holiday spirit.

This past month the Georgia chapter of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) hosted their Christmas in June on behalf of The Center. The event took place at Fat Cat's in Austell and included a battle of the bands, bike show, and membership drive which raised over $700. ABATE is also planning a December toy drive which is always exciting for the youth.

The summer holiday giving doesn't end there. The Ladies of Harley Marietta HOG chapter from the Earl Small's dealership has been tediously planning a Christmas in July event to be held here at The Center. The children will enjoy a barbeque with lots of games, activities, and a special gift for each one.

Lockheed has plans of their own for a Summer in July fundraiser. They will be collecting gift cards to retailers and food venues and are also working on getting us some much needed kitchen equipment, like a meat slicer.

We are extremely thankful to the generous contributors who support us all year long. It truly makes a difference in the lives of our children.
